Groundswell COnservancy
UX / webpage design
VISION
When designing the home page for the Groundswell Conservancy of Wisconsin, I wished to modernize the experience by leaning heavily into the use of bold, colorful imagery with contemporary typography and a clean layout. Inspired by the square shape of their logo, I wanted to repeat its form throughout, unifying the homepage across the desktop, tablet, and mobile websites. Being an environmentally-focused non-profit, I wanted to reinforce their mission through photos of the natural world
PROCESS
After developing a design brief and style guide, I built the sitemap and used the Optimal Workshop website to create a card sort in order to best layout the links within. I used royalty-free imagery from Unsplash, and edited them within Photoshop to assist in unifying them across the homepage. Once these assets were used in Adobe Xd, I used Wordpress to build the website using the ‘Neve’ theme with Elementor as the main plug-in to build the homepage.
